FLATBEAR

Notorious arter and reader of comics.

This is mainly an Marvel Comics/movies/Lord of the Rings/art blog with a slight smattering of Teen Wolf, Parks and Recreation, Community and more.

I am always happy to answer any asks sent my way!

This blog is occasionally NSFW and mostly spoiler-free.

‘I wish I knew more about the comic book world of Marvel, but there seems like there’s so much and I don’t even know where to start!’

I think I will always feel this way, no matter how many I read.

CHIRRUN. Why do you all feel like you have to know everything about the universe in which you read comics? I am a HUGE Marvel fan, but I am primarily an Avengers girl. I could give less of a shit what’s happening over in X-town. Likewise with DC, there are a lot of titles I read, but I could give no fucks about what the Justice League are up to.

If you try to know EVERYTHING about a universe as vast as Marvel 616, your head will explode. And your bank account will die a withered, husk of a thing. If you like a character, read about them. Follow them to other books, and learn about new characters THROUGH them.

Pick up a comic book, and accept that you are going to be confused as hell. I am a HUGE comics fan, I buy comics every week, I live and breath comics, but I am still as confused as shit. There are still characters I don’t recognise, still stories I don’t know.

And that’s the best thing about it. You will never stop learning. You will never run out of stories to read and characters to fall in love with. Let the intimidating size and history be the absolute best thing about it. It never ends.

Aw yiss, gotta love those minor, MINOR characters.

Agents Cale and Garrett. Sitting on rooftops and drinking milkshakes, like bosses.
