Indeed I can!
Every event is different, some are crossover events (in which there may or may not be a separate core series, and a lot of the important things happen in special issues of ongoing series), and some are completely self contained. From what I have heard, Age of Ultron (abbreviated AU, not to be confused with Alternate Universe) is going to be mostly self-contained.
AU will be 10 core books. The first six will be spread out over March and April, and the final four will be spread out over May and June. To give you an idea of what to look for, here is the cover of issue one!
There are six issues of currently ongoing series that will tie in to this event. While they are not vital, they will add a lot to the event storyline. Those books are:
- Fantastic Four #5
- Superior Spider-Man #6
- Avengers Assemble #14
- Wolverine and the X-Men #27
- Ultron #1
- Uncanny Avengers #8
Don’t worry if you’re not reading any of those books, each of those tie-in issues will have AU written next to the issue number, and that means they’re a part of the Age of Ultron event :)
There will also be an epilogue issue after the event which will be titled Age of Ultron Epilogue #1.
SO! After all of that, I imagine your LCS’s package subscription means they will pull every book affiliated with the event for you. If you’re interested in the event, this sounds like a great way to make sure you get all of the books!
For anyone else interested, talk to your LCS about preordering all of the Age of Ultron books. This page right here
contains all of the issues I have linked in this post so you can make sure you get them all, or see if your LCS has a handy little postcard-sized cheat-sheet distributed by Marvel. Mine does!
Enjoy the event, everyone, I’m excited to see where Brian Michael Bendis takes Ultron, a GREAT villain in his own right!
